She then went on to obtain her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, writing the Common Final Exam in 2019 and obtaining her letters in early 2020.
With a broad range of work and volunteer experience, Kyla has a unique understanding of multiple businesses, with her passion residing within the Agricultural industry. She has worked with a wide range of operations including Crop, Cow/Calf, Feedlot, Dairy, Hog, Hutterite Colonies, Potato, Purebred, Layers & Broilers, and of course Mixed. While working in public practice for several years as well as at AFSC, Kyla gained knowledge on accounting, tax, auditing and risk management for companies and enjoys helping businesses find strategic answers, funding, and business opportunities. More recently she has been diving into wellness work and enjoys working with women run wellness businesses.
Kyla lives on an acreage sectioned out of one of the farm’s pasture quarters and is still actively involved in farm life, helping out with the cow/calf herd and managing her own mini layer flock. Kyla has a large volunteer history within Red Deer, Agriculture organizations, and the Elnora Community. Kyla enjoys gardening, meditation, yoga, paddleboarding, knitting and has a strong belief that all questions can be approached and solved with the right risk assessment.
